Os x, in particular finder, keeps freezing when I try to restart. The beach ball just spins and I have to hold down the power button to reset. I was running an app called total finder which i suspect was the problem but when i deleted it there was no change. I ran onyx, repaired the startup disk and verified the files to no avail. Is there something else I can try before I do a full restore?

Be careful with OnyX, it has been known to cause problems.

Did you unistall Total Finder completely or did you just delete the application?

I installed 10.6.7 and it fixed whatever was wrong. Will be staying away from Total Finder, I'd no problems up until I started using it and from reading their forums lots of people are having issues with it crashing Finder.
