    Hi all,

Does anyone know where I could buy adults second-hand bicycles? I need a ladies AND a gents, they are just for use to go to & from the pub (nothing serious or long-distance) so I dont want to spend more than €200 for the pair.

Im aware of Colemans cycles in Carlow town but if there was anyone else who specialised in Second-hand bicycles around the Carlow area I'd go see them.

    Thanks :)

If you intend using the bike instead of drink-driving, be aware that it's also illegal to use a bicycle under the influence of alcohol.

Incorrect, you can only be done if the guard forms an opinion that you are incapable of controlling your vehicle, the same as with drug driving.

    Try Myrons in Arles.

They normally stock loads of second hand bikes AFAIK (Long long time since I was out there)

Used to get all our bikes there when I was a kid, never paid more than 20 pounds i think. Pretty sure they're still going.

There's definitely one in Arles, don't know the name but it's done out of a house, I pass it often enough on the bike.

Thanks everyone, I'll def ckeck the Arles guy out, I dropped into Colemans yesterday & he had not a single Second-Hand bike for sale! He said no-one is trading in their bikes anymore because of the 'bike-to-work' scheme. So I think I'll give Brendan a ring first - or it could be another wasted visit!

Arles is a definite chance - have heard great things about him since I moved to Carlow & bikes.

Ah the memories. Looking at all the nice bikes hanging from the ceiling, gradually passing them all by to the field at the back to be given the rust bucket that would be mine until it was stolen.
