Shock Absorbers on a VW Passat

I had my rear shock absorbers replaced on my Passat about three - maybe 4 months ago. I had a long drive at the weekend and I noticed that they were starting to make a small bit of a racket at the rear again - nothing major at all but when I had a look last night in the garage - there is signs that they are both leaking a bit of fluid again. Surely to God this should not be the case. NCT is coming up for the first time and this will be a fail won't it? Apart from that, they surely should last more than a few months! Any opinions?

Well if you're driving across fields in the dead of night stealing sheep the rear shocks ain't gonna last too long:D

Seriously though, dampers should last a couple of years with normal use. Go back to whoever fitted the new ones a couple of months ago.

The sheep are easy prey around these parts... no need to go driving across fields. I'm going back to the garage at lunch!

What make shocks did you put in? Monroe offer a 12 month warranty.
