E-mail sent offering asking price....will report back with response.

its somebody that did not fill in the details correctly
or maybe just thinks he will gain more response due to no price its common for people to do this

    still over-priced :pac:

I think it's VERY common for people to do this when they believe their car is so superbly special that it must be worth way more than all the other similar models out there.
Maybe it's like the old Rolls Royce response to a price query..."if you have to ask, then you can't afford it".
Anyway, we'll see what his response is, if any.

E-mail sent at 17:50 offering full asking price....still no reply.
Think I went in a bit high :D:D

maybe i should have have asked for a few hundred off the asking ;)

Seriously though, it's bad enough when someone leaves the "asking price" bit blank or puts €0 but when you click on the ad it would be nice if the Dreamer could at least put a guide price on their cosseted POS.

By the way I have no huge interest in Punto GT's but they are probably worth a punt at small money if you have enough room to store them for a few years.

I've never seen any Punto HGT or Bravo HGT in Ireland.

That pretty much makes his as true - very rare.

If that's real mileage for 2005, it should be a really great car, and it's probably worth a good bit.
    It's 1.8 petrol 130BHP, Top speed 205km/h, acceleration to 100km/h - 8.6s

I would love to have one.

That's a pre 03 one, must have been sitting up for years.
Drove one about 10 years ago. Meh.

Kit looks good, I had the same wheels

Not a fan of Fiats in any way , but that looks like one minter of a car.

The ad says it's 05. I don't see any reason not to believe in it.

PS. That's a regular abarth kit. Probably left the factory like that.

I don't think Colm is debating that it isn't 05 but rather stating that it is the pre 2003 facelifted model so must have been sitting around unsold for some time. Facelifted model from 03 has a different front end. Given that the HGT is 1.8 litre in a small car in this country then it makes sense that it probably was sitting around unregistered for some time.

130bhp isin't much to push out of a 1.8 is it

    I don't know.
I have primera 1.8 which is 116BHP. I used to have mondeo 1.8 before which was 125BHP.
130BHP seems to be nothing extraordinary.
Besides Fiat was always quite innovative with it's engines.

They're a wee pocket rocket them yokes. Mate of mine had 1 in a lovely blue, very fast for its size and weight. It was a 1.4 GT turbo

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,412 ✭✭✭andyseadog

    yeah it makes you wonder.

i'd feel bad driving a 1.8 fiat and paying the fuel and tax costs that are associated with it, only to be effortlessly overtaken by a cheaper to fuel and tax and infinitely (IMO) better Glanza.

even in terms of modern N/A engines, now that most manufacturers are using engines with variable valve timing, 130bhp is a bit underwhelming i reckon.

24 hours have passed and still no reply to my full asking price offer.
He probably realises his asking price was a little low and wants to try and haggle a bit.

By the way, when I started this thread it was aimed at ALL the people who don't put a price on their Car-For-Sale ads, not just this particular car. I don't care if it's the last one in the whole world, made of diamonds and platinum, been tuned by Jesus himself, and had Elton John and David Furnish conceiving babies on the back seat.....without some indication of price then it's just a few pictures of somebody's car.

And another thing, Stop covering Reg. numbers. It just makes the car (and seller) look dodgy.
For those who use the "cloning" argument, it is very, very rare in this small country of ours and if your car is ever cloned you should be delighted at the opportunity to enjoy free tolls and the freedom to fly past the mobile-camera vans.

    Rare indeed

    But it looks like this
    Just with 4 wheels.

My guess is that the seller glanced at your email and deleted it.
