Hi, I work over 3 years in retail sector. Recently found out that company wants to cut my position...i`m assistant manager. Spoke to my manager and said that i`d take voluntary redundancy if they offer. Whats are my rights? Can i negotiate redundancy package?

I'd have thought that yes if they are only making one position redundant you would have a good chance of some sort of negotiation..

I would also say that you "might" be interested "depending" on the offer, don't make it seem like it's a done deal before an offer is even made..

there is nothing official yet, just talking...how many extra weeks per year i could gain? read somewhere that people get around 6 to 8 weeks per year...would that be right?

In the current climate, you may be offered only statutory redundancy.

find out what that is here and then see what you would need to survive. I know of a high st retailer that paid stat + in the last year to managers.
