Would also be interested in hearing if anybody has any experience using halfords exact match paint.

Need to tidy up some stone chippings on my car also.

From experience the halfrauds stuff is miles off colour wise.
Looking into getting a smart repair company to sort it out.. I know it defeats the purpose, better that than having the car look like a block of Swiss cheese (IMO)

My experience is they get it very close and the one in Navan made up sample batches for me to bring out to the car park and compare to add/more or less diff colours to match the faded Alfa paint (Alfa paint is crap).

They have all the tools to do it well, the limiting factor is the mixer (or the customer with the wrong colour code).

PS: Im actually referring to the stuff they mix

I got them to make some up for me for a Focus that I scuffed and it was a perfect match to my eye.

I guess some of it (success) will depend on the experience levels of the person making up the paint though.

(edit) took them 20 mins to mix it

I got this before for a Japanese import, had the paint code and everything but it was miles off. got it for a Hyundai Accent and it was exactly right.

I'd get some from Main Dealer. It's not that expensive and once you give them your colour code you will get the exact match. I have it for both my VW's and it's perfect.

Just bought a kit myself from a BMW dealer, it was ~€30. Small, but all I'll need for some time to come, I hope at least. :)

Got some from Halfords before and it was miles off, went to Ford and got the touch up kit for less than a tenner and its a near perfect match.

I can recommend the Halfords exact mach paint, i've got it 3 times on different cars with excellent results!

One reason why it might be off is the paint on the car may be in shoddy condition i.e faded/weathered
