Photoshop Elements 6

I have a Nikon D3000 and shoot in Raw. To work on them in Photoshop Elements 6 I have to convert the photos to DNGs using Adobe DNG Converter. That's OK but when I want to save a photo in Elements as a JPEG 2000 having made changes I can't re open it again. Any suggestions
