Was wondering if anyone else who shop on Amazon received the following E Mail.

    Dear client of Amazon.co.uk

Requiring PIN Signatures is the latest security measure against: identity theft, credit card fraud and unauthorized account access. Amazon will verify it with your bank records for your own protection.

Click here to Requiring PIN Signatures

If you provide a wrong PIN your account will be suspended for unauthorized account access.

Seems a bit strange Amazon looking for your pin number:confused:

Spam i'd assume... Chances are the link doesn't actually link to the site.

    SCAM SCAM SCAM.

Don't touch it. They'll ask you to log in with your amazon details on a website which looks like amazon but isn't. Then they will change some details on amazon, charge your credit card etc etc.

It's called PHISHING. Look it up. :D:D:D

    Scam:

date Sun, Mar 20, 2011 at 4:28 AM
    subject Requiring PIN Signatures
    mailed-by reseller15.hrwebservices.net

    as opposed to

date Sun, Mar 20, 2011 at 9:48 AM
subject Revision to Your Amazon.co.uk Account
    mailed-by bounces.amazon.com
    signed-by amazon.co.uk

I flicked a mail to Amazon on it. Not sure if they will do anything but no harm in letting them know.

The bits in bold are a dead giveaway it's a scam, also the fact they have capitalised "Requiring PIN Signatures" makes it look unusual.
A company such as Amazon would never have someone contact their "clients" on behalf of them regarding something as important as billing. It's written badly and has no sense of authority.

And as pointed out above, look where the email came from, always a clue. Like a bank, they will generally never contact you about billing, unless there's an issue with expiration and even at that, in most cases they'll tell you to log onto the site, they won't provide a link to a third party site.

Also, Amazon will never, ever ask you to share your password or bank details via e-mail.
