You can't cancel it now, it's gone. An Post are legally obliged to deliver the shipment.

You have posted it, and it can't be stopped. It will only be returned to you if it can't be delivered.

Technically you can't get it stopped but there was a case recently in the paper where a woman posted a laptop to Nigeria the local Garda went to the post office when it was proven fraud and got the laptop back. This all happened in the one day so the item hadn't left the local post office.

If the item hasn't left the local post office you have some chance any further than that and there's no hope.

Still no seller protection for Irish sellers on eBay? One of the main reasons i don't use it anymore.

Very difficult to stop it unless its being sent to someone in this country and then you could call the sorting office of the destination.

If its for outside the country, its just one package in one cage out of hundreds of cages. - Even with the best will in the world, this would be difficult as there's no way of tracing what cage the parcel is in.

While the above is totally correct, there is one exception.

If the item hasnt left your local sorting office yet you may be able to retrieve it. This usually would be the 1st day after you sent the item, and you are relying on finding a helpful staff member in a good mood!

    Thanks for all your answers,
Unfortunately anPost couldn't stop my shipping :(
I have reported to Garda, they advised me to report to interpol as well.
"We are still in game"

You should contact the post office in the area it's going to, i've found the garda absolutely useless in these cases they've the best of intentions, it's really up to you, if you can track down the end sorting office it ends up in and get it stopped from there it's your only hope. I've managed to get back fraud packages from belgium and poland but it was all my own effort getting it stopped just before it was delivered.
If you had it registered you should be able to track it down to it's final destination and get it stopped there if your lucky, don't hold out for interpol or the Garda it just won't happen.
