Hi all - how much will the iPad 2 16GB WIFI Only be on release in the UK? I know it'll be the same as the iPad 1 was but I don't know what that was?

I'll be going to UK in June and might wait until then if its worth the price difference

    Thanks

The price in the UK starts at £439 not, £499. Given the exchange rates, there wont be much savings if any. In the US on the other hand ...

No gain in price or exchange rates. Buy it down here. Only saving is if you buy in the US or the Middle East.

Do we know this for sure? It was 429GBP last year, now reduced to 329. Are you saying it will be 439 because of the new UK VAT rate?

I think the previous poster got mixed up - its looks like the original price was €429, not €439.

I asked because I checked online about the UK price and saw that it was €329  and was definitely going to wait until I was in the UK in June to pick up an iPad 2 but then realised that the €329 price was with the discount included which of course is not going to apply to the new version. Its actually a few Euro more expensive with the exchange rate to get it in UK...which is weird...normally we're the ones being screwed! :)

On a side note - I'm going to buy the iPad in PC world...I have heard horror stories about their customer service but I presume that as I am buying an Apple product I can by-pass PC World and go straight to them~? (thats of course assuming I get a problem, which I shouldn't)

Exactly, always go to Apple. Declan of PC World has a thread going on the Curry's/PC World board where he will take reservations on the iPad 2.....

That would be grammar, I take it?:D

Anyway, it wasn't a correction of anyone's grammar, it referred to the fact that it was 429 and is now 329. There is no evidence to suggest that it will be 4*3*9, save the recent hike in UK VAT.

Off topic, but why is everyone in this thread not using the quote tags properly? :P

fox007 misquoted by editing the quote and not fixing the end quote tag in post 2, everyone else has been quoting since then with the same tag problem generating through the posts..

3G iPhones much dearer here, can you supply the link to the prices above.

      Cheers

Just wondering why it costs so much more for the 3g version? Surely a 3g adapter is not that expensive? Is there much difference if you tether through your phone?

Tmobile in the UK are selling them subsidised for £199 on contracts. I wonder will Irish operators do the same.
