    Hi Folks,

Can anyone recommend a wireless router which is easy to set up for xbox 360, and has good performance in general.

    Many Thanks,

Got the official xbox one there a few weeks back.Kept getting disconnected every 20 mins the first day but I messed around with the eircom router settings a bit and its flying now,no disconnects and when was playing black ops was getting full bars most of the time compared to when I bridges it through the lap top.

for anyone with eircom routers-just type in 192.168.1.254 and hit enter(if its the zyxel modem the password is broadband1)and turn off the firewall. On the zxyegl there is a ****e setting under wireless called re-authenthication timer which is set by default to 1800(you'll get kicked out of games every 1800 seconds!).change this to 9999 and save changes

And if anyone uses non isp modms netgear and linksys are good brands to go with

yeah but then you have no firewall . why not just place the xbox in the dmz so its outside the firewall and everything else like your computers are still inside and at least a little safer

as long as you have windows firewall (or some other vendors firewall)on the pc's you 'll be grand. There is no DMZ with the eircom modem.

by all means leave the firewall on in the modem but your NAT settings will be strict

is it themselves or magnet that are fairly restrictive with the router usage?
and are they still using them old zyxel modems or have they upgraded at all ?

Zyzel + Netopia = Strict or Moderate Nat. Not impossible to make it Open, but hard for normal Joe's to setup port forwarding etc.

Netgear = Very easy to set up a DMZ (put your Xboxe's IP address into a demilitarized zone), this gives you an Open Nat.

think the modems just have the basic functions to get you connected.

if my modem ever craps it I will get one from a shop,at least you get every thing including DMZ's and a proper wireless signal strength!!
