Have to disagree with the OP.
RTE might have far too many 'Prima Donna's' getting far too much wages, but their coverage on Radio (and TV) of the General Election was second to none IMO.

Their experts on politics are far from being 'thick'.
they do not tend to 'jump the gun' with results like many Nations Public Service Broadcasters do.

their expertise is only matched by their humour, but the humour is only used while they wait for counts to come in.
by any standards they were superb on results day.
credit were it is due,When they remember that they are a PSB they cannot be beat, IMO.

Did you watch any previous elections on RTE? Through the evening and night when the presenters had gone home to spend their money? They were absolutely dire. I reckon they upped their game this year because Boards and The Journal plus twitter etc. shamed them into it. Back in 2002 I was gobsmacked by how impossible it was to find any kind of regular updates. The Internet wasn't so big then but the radio and tv had the same facilities as they have now, so why has it suddenly become possible for them to match the newer media?

In saying that, yes, RTE was brilliant this year.

The name of the shop is The Click computer store. The point is why would somebody ask for a mw radio in a computer shop? radios with mw are very easy to find on display in electrical shops.

    Are you 14 or something?

In the grand scheme of things, this is beyond irrelevant. They needed someone for a soundbyte, and Cantec/Click would have been the nearest electrical retailer.

Right, so you never stood in the place so you have no idea what they sold back then. Good, all I needed to know.

I'm closing this thread because I'm not really sure what it's about to be honest. Airing on the aide of caution perhaps but closed anyway.
