Did any of ye see that programme on TG4 Paddys day before the club All Irelands? Top 25 hurling points of all time caught on camera. For those who missed it Niall Quinn got no. 12 or so(IIRC) for his point in the 1983 AI Minor Final. It was an unreal score. He must have been some hurler in his day if that was anything to go by.He looked like a big, gangly awkward player but it took some skill to do what he did. He was the same in soccer.Looked awkward-but wasnt as bad as made out.

Quinn's point was superb technique for a minor. Would have been a star in the game no doubt.

Still get a thrill looking at no 1 after all these years and gotta love big Diarmuids score in 2001.

One question i have is why Brendan Bermingham's point is not in the top 10 or 5 even? the more shocking fact it was so far down the list. He was a huge distance out and it just seemed so effortless.

Thanks for that lads. Fantastic viewing.

Quinn's point was brilliant. Nothing like a score taken in the air like that.

Yeah, you're always going to get some controversial choices in something like this. Wouldn't have Eamonn Morrissey's so high up the 25.

The Wexford one that Duignan said was the best point he'd seen in Croke Park, was also an excellent score.

Wouldn't argue much with the No. 1 choice either

I never seen Quinn's goal until very recently. Have to say from a skill point of view, it was the best of the lot of them. Most were picked for their relevance (i.e. jamesie o'connor's point to win the 1997 All-Ireland) rather than sheer skill.

Quinn's point reminds me of John Fenton's goal in the 1987 Munster final against Limerick in thurles. Its a pity we don't see more of these kind of scores nowadays.

Enjoyed watching Quinns point so now I can tell every ****ing bull****ting aul fella that he was Not the only ever player to double up on the ball from his own puck out and score a point. Ive heard it from a few!

It was the same with Frank McGuigans 11 points for Tyrone in an Ulster Final.
Ive even heard from analysts on TV that it was 5 with the right, 5 with the Left and one fisted(Not true). Youtube proves them all wrong!

All the same, some mighty scores!

I remember being at that game and the buzz was that he was on the books at Arsenal so there was probably extra pressure on him. It was an unbelievable piece of skill.I've never seen anyone even try it from their own puck out.
