what model is it? (L96 etc) after you get it apart and if everthing looks grand you should contact the seller , if it came for him he'd probly know alot of the in and outs of the item

sounds like it is slam firing, normally happens at high fps when the sear gives way , at low fps it could just be a faulty sear giving same results , did you buy it as a private sale or from a shop?

so i left the rifle in the box and then 20 minutes later took it out to see if i can hacksaw the screws, and its working again. strange.

im gonna try to get them screws out and replace them, and also have a look inside see whats goin on.

I had a problem with worn sears before so I replaced them, after a few hundred shots it started giving trouble again. It was just a matter of taking it apart, cleaning and re-lubing everything and tightening everything up properly. Best of luck with it because they're so much fun!

little update. so i finally managed to get rid of the stripped screw, they were absolutely mangled. there was really no proper problem, the sears are like brand new, the real problem was that everything was loose.

so i tightend everything up BUT however that part which you have to kinda unjam to get the trigger box off (im not sure what its called, its like this little silver thing that you push out and then the trigger box comes off the barrel)
its completly loose, i wraped a tiny layer of tape around it and stuck it back in, its a bit loose but i don't know how to get the little bastard to stick back in. does anyone have any good ideas how i can get it to stay there aprt from the dodgy tape job?

    thanks.

btw i forgot to mention, it works properly now.
