    Hello everyone,
I'm new to boards but I have seen lots of helpful advice here so I thought I'd ask for some help!

I signed up for the Flora Mini Marathon in June, and have never run properly before. I'm building up my runs gradually! Also doing some Pilates. I'm just wondering does anyone know how much excercise I should be doing to get fit? Trying to clean up my diet too but finding it quite tough.

    Thanks!

    How much can you run?
Start somewhere on c25k or the bridge to 10k?

Il move this to the Athletics/Running/Tri forum for you OP - more relevant traffic there.

thanks for the replys :) I can run 5 k at the minute, but afterwards I feel like death! I'm really trying to tone up as well as get fit, I'm running 5 k 3 times a week at the minute. Not too sure if I'm eating the right snacks etc for running either, this is all new to me!

The various Fit4Life leagues are great to get ready for the MM - check AAI for your nearest one.

If you can already run 5K (however wrecked you feel afterwards), then you're already doing something right!
I'd also recommend looking at the Hal Higdon 10K plan as advised by bluewolf. It's worked for A LOT of people on this forum so is highly recommended.

Enjoy the running and welcome to the club! :D
