Radiation is good for you according to Ann Coulter, famous for being an American Idiot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpNjUGvry40 Is it just me or do many Americans come across as morons?

It's Ann Coulter. No one takes her seriously and she is by no means an average american. You can safely ignore her. She's a media whore.

It depends on what you read.

There is some suggestion that Radiation at low levels may reduce the risk of cancer. It is known that a dose, a reprieve, followed by another dose improves the body's ability to handle radiation.

If Ann Coulter was telling us that the sky was blue, I'd be skeptical. Not often I'd see Billo being the voice of reason.

Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly = the biggest **** on US television.

    Oh, there's worse...

Compared to Beck, Billo is honest, intelligent and accurate.

Coulter mentioned various scientists who think some radiation can be good. The OP can give us the scientists who disagree to show her view to be wrong. Shouldn't be that hard.

Why should we even bother trusting her sources?

We all have a level of radiation within us. Still this is AH where stoopid reigns supreme

I looked at that clip and of course when you watch anything on FOX it sounds utterly asinine due to the way Bill O'Reilly does his folksy schtick and that Ann Coulter always comes across as a shrieking harridan

No its not just you. We Irish love to sneer at Americans "stupidity"

Whilst ignoring the fact that they have the best colleges in the world and our country is going backrupt because of some of the stupidiest politicians the developed world has ever seen.

But yeah, Americans are the stupid ones.....

I love when she uses the phrase "coolest cat" and is unwilling to admit that being exposed to high doses of radiation is bad.

She knows full well it is but to make her argument more sensationalist she won't admit it and keeps harping on about levels that are beneficial.

She's a f*cking dope and always has been from what I can tell.

The same amount of people per capita come across as idiots in ireland and america, but america gives more people airtime on TV because they like to watch idiots.

I was on one tour bus in Edinburgh when we stopped by a castle close to a train station and one American goes "It's really great how they built the castle so close to the railway station". That is one of the most idiotic things I have heard.

I think I have came in contact with at least 50 Americans and made sexytime inside one of them.

my old room mate jumped into a conversation me and a few of the lads were having with 'which came first, the big bang or the dinosaurs' that is one of the most idiotic things i have heard and she is from cork.

I guess corkonians are all idiots as well

having lived there for almost two years I realised that they are no more or less stupid then us but because there are 100 times more of them then us they have 100times more idiots as well

    Ok just watched the clip

If she is really has scientific papers to back up what she says then it sounds believable imo. however there is a big difference between saying 5 times the recomended daily amount can reduce your risk of cancer and extrapolating that up to anything remotely close to 'radiation is good for you' is idiotic but i didnt actually hear her say that

in fact i specifically heard her say that there is an amount of radiation that can kill but thats not what the media tells people, they tell people any tiny amount of radiation can kill you. I would agree with this.

No, no. Its just their idiots are a bit louder, rather than there being more of them (percentage wise)

Were did you read about that. I'm aware of the concepts of dose and tolerance, but I'd be very suspicious when their talked about in relation to radiation.

I had a chuckle at the "6 hours a day, 12 Days a week..." line.

    What an idiot.

Spas like this should be ignored until they manage to grow half a brain at least. It must just be attention seeking to the extreme, no one can consistently be so stupid, right?

    Really:confused:
There is a joke about an American tourist saying its a shame they built Bunratty Castle so close to the motor way.
So. Did you really over hear that on the bus or are your using an urban legend?

If you can name the castle and the station I will believe you as i lived in Edinburgh for a year.

Ann Coulter is simply an idiot. At best she's an extremely annoying nose talker. But that doesn't mean what she is saying is necessarily false. If you want to criticize the information, do some fact checking.

The avg. human body contains about 140g of Potassium 40'K isotope around the body in muscles and tissues. Biologists suspect that it plays an important role in our metabolism.

A radiation dose equivalent of 100 μSv (10 mrem, or 1,000 BED) increases an average adult human's risk of death by about one micromort – the same risk as eating 40 tablespoons of peanut butter, or of smoking 1.4 cigarettes.[7]

UV Radiation is also how our skin generates Vitamin D.

A new one, that. I would have thought her being described as talking from the other end alltogether...

Sure, are you paying for it?

You seem to mistake safety and recklessness though.
