99 Euro Service....

I've got an '07 Fiesta which is due for a service and it's first NCT soon.

I've contacted a Ford main dealer in Cork who has a E99 service on offer at the moment. (City Ford at Airport Road if anyone's interested...). They've also offered to check the emissions, lights and so on before the test.

I guess my question is : Does this kind of service do what it says on the tin? I've found in the past when I lived in London you get these 'cheap' services, and when you get the final bill, it's for a hell of a lot more!

Is that the same experience here?

    TIA:)

€99 is for oil and filter change anything else they will change will cost extra. I never use a garage to check a car out before an NCT, just take it for the NCT and let them tell you what needs to be done.

That's what I thought! Thanks for that.

I used to do the same with my car at home. Put the car through the MoT and find out that way. But the test is a lot stricter here and they'll fail the car for the silliest of reasons, so I thought it might be better to check it before it went in. I think I might do the same here then and see how it goes.

Do what sh1tstirrer said, you'll save your self a fortune. Maybe just get the garage to change any bulbs. A 07 should fly through the test anyway. At the most it will probably fail on tyres or bulbs. Good luck with it!

Get the €99 service, don't bother with the emissions test unless they are doing it for free. The car should stroll the NCT as folks have mentioned.

The service your car requires depends on the kms you have on it and the servicing that has been carried out before so it impossible for them to say it will only cost you €99.

Check your manual which will tell you what is due for the age and kms on your car and then ask the garage for a quote for that.

Extra's like brakes, wipers etc may be needed but are obviously not included in the schedualed service price.
