    Hi,

I am looking for some advice on short term photography courses in Dublin?Any recommendations? I have already completed a beginners course and want to continue with a view to doing a more long term course in September (possible NCAD or Griffith College). I have been looking at some of the courses offered by the Institute of Photography. I would really appreciate any advice,

    Thank you,
    Brid

    Hi Brid,

Last year i completed the Improvers Photography Course in the IOP and two weeks ago completed the Advanced Course. I found these courses to be quite beneficial and definetly helped me get more from my camera, my photography and photoshop! They are very formatted courses, in that they stick quite close to the notes, however they do answer all questions and dont rush you out after the class! I am hoping to sign up for the part-time Photography course in Griffith College this year (if i can get €4,000 together) and feel these courses have put me on the right path!

On the negative side, and this is strictly my own opinion. The courses are run by a very able tutor, Dave, sometimes probably because he has done so many courses he tends to repeat himself, in one case he repeated an entire chapter in the advanced course without knowing it! Can't help but feel he needs a dig out sometimes, great bloke though! They have a flickr account if you want to see the quality images his students acheive.

Hope this helps in some way, you can do me a favour by letting me know if you know anyone that did the Griffith course, i need to find out what its like!

    Yours

    Brian

That would be great, can i send you a mail asking a few questions or what suits? Im not a tight ass but €4,000 is €4,000 and need to know if it will assist me!

    Thank You
