juat got a letter in the post, havent been insured with them since last summer, and i was insured under my father

so anyway heres the deal, got a letter addressed to me, which was strange since it was my fathers policy,

and it said from the details we hold for you we can offer you the following indicative quote 1133, now im assumeing that since the letter was addressed to me this would be a quote for my own policy

also its third party fire and theft, so wat im wondering is this a real quote or just something to draw me in so they can turn around and say oh sorry its guna be higher

provisonal licence for 2 years, and have 1 years no claims

Insurance isn't a trap, you don't get drawn into it. You ask for a quote, give them all applicable details and then either take it or leave it. They're shilling for your business - a "you're a named driver so why not stick when us when you get your own car?" sorta thing.

At the very worst to find out the story it'll cost you the price of a phonecall or a trip to their website to get a quote :)

No, you are on your father's policy. The only way to get a policy in your own name is to own the car (as in be it's registered owner) and obtain a quote from a company for your own policy (Open to correction on this though)

Well if you're looking to start a policy in your name thats a pretty good quote, I went my own policy with Quinn last year, I was 19 on a full licence with 1 years named driver experience and it was around 1600. They recently sent me out a renewel quote at about 1100 but I rang them and got them down to 970
