I'd say Dermot Ahern's pyschoactive substances bill has done more for horticultural education in this country than Diarmuid Gavin's landscaping TV shows ever could :pac:

Because they lead to heroin - So OP unless you want to be begging a LUAS stop and sleeping on the streets - Join the local church youth group or book club, they'll keep you out of trouble!

They sell CAKE. It's very dangerous though. One young kiddie on Cake cried all the water out of his body. Just imagine how his mother felt. It's a fúcking disgrace.

It takes more then purchasing a plastic bong to get you into the world of heroin.

    Hahhahahhaa.

How did someone like you even manage to get on the internet? Did yea get your gran kids to hook it up for yea or what?

Do you drink alcohol? Its just another legal drug like the ones in those shops.

Its like saying joining the local church youth group will lead you to getting raped.

Ya start with the plastic ones, then move onto the glass ones. Next thing you know you're begging your pimp for your crack pipe back. It's a slipperly slope, Karl.

Easy mistake to make as certain persons would make a statement like this without the implied irony

I heard about this one girl who took drugs bought in a head shop, and she thought she was an orange and she tried to peel herself with a sharp knife and THEN SHE DIED!! And this other guy thought he could fly AND THEN HE DIED!!

    Drugs are bad, mmmmkay?

Get them from your friendly local dealer instead, much better quality, and you'll be helping the black economy

Actually the funny thing is, going by other posts the poster has made in the past, it would seem other wise. I'm sad to say.

I would be interesting to see how people would have turned out if they stayed open for another 10 years.

I don't think headshops have that much to with it, if people want drugs; they will get drugs.

I'm 33 now and only occasionally dabble in stuff, but I started taking drugs when I was 14, waaaay before headshops were even heard of, and the lack of headshops never stopped me getting pills/speed/weed whenever I wanted it. I had about 5 dealers living within 10 minutes walk of my house (not the evil stereotype drug dealers that you hear about either, these were just young lads making a few extra quid for themselves).

The people that bought stuff in headshops would have found dealers to buy drugs off anyway, and now that the headshops have closed, people have just gone back to buying from dealers again.......

The government missed out on a lot of revenue by not allowing headshops to remain and taxing the products. Fools

Stupid really, there's going to be drugs sold anyway, legally or illegally. We may as well tax it, create employment from it and take money out of the hands of gangs who are destroying our country and killing several innocent people

In fairness kids have been underage drinking for ever, everyone does it really don't they. I can't really think of anyone.

The thing about the headshops though was if you went on a night out in Dublin anyway you were never really too far from the 24hour headshop. I remember a lot more after sessions going on during these times too. After a few drinks your quite easily going get some head shop products and be awake till Monday. I'm kind of glad they're gone!

Headshops were selling stuff all night till like 4am in dublin city centre at the height of their popularity, just before the ban. There would be people going up to the hatch all night buying snow-type products mostly

There were plenty of headshops open around the clock. I'm very much for the decriminalisation of all drugs and the legalisation of some, but having stimulants readily available 24/7 is asking for trouble.

They went 24hour. To be honest the way things are going I'm going to have to give up drink myself at this stage. I'm getting old!

Thats the problem with youth of today - to many video games and drugs have fried their brains!

    As for headshops - I'm glad they're gone -

The blow sub was sh!t and the coke sub left you mental for a day or two -

Plus a lot of kids were being served - and also, I'd know people to buy drugs in a headshop but wouldnt buy off a drug dealer.

I would say try the Dublin forum but tbh they wouldn't want this type of thread there. So I would just say keep it to yourself. But I did ban you just to make sure.
    Two thumbs up.
