Lacquer peeling help

    Hi ive noticed on my bonnet that the lacquer has begun to peel a small bit on the bonnet but i know once it start it can spread, what the best way to fix it? or stop it from spreading? without having to get the whole bonnet re sprayed. Thanks

    No way to stop, nor would you want to. If it's lifting now, ad even if it were possible to fix one area - which it's not - the same issue is bound to crop up somewhere else. You're going to have to respray the bonnet, not the best news I know, but it's the only way to rectify it.

    Ah thats what i was thinking was hoping there was some kinda miracle cure ha, thanks for the info though any ideas how much id be looking at for a re spray on the bonnet?

    A bonnet's a very large panel, and uses a lot of paint. There'll be a whole lot of prepwork too for anyone doing it to remove the lacquer and the basecoat that's on there. I'd say approx 400 would be a fair price, there's days of labour in it.
