Does anyone know any company who can supply and install a cruise control system?

I'm Galway based, but I will travel to get this done.

The vehicle is a 1998 Toyota Hilux Surf SSRX, 3.0D Automatic.

    Thanks.

    D.

I have no idea whether or not it has an electronic throttle; I'm not the most mechanically savvy person around!

I did find a kit for doing it, but the trouble is getting my electrical guy to do the fitting!!!

That needs an electronic speedometer drive to work and probably an ECU controlled engine, doubt if that's the case in a a 98 Surf. The jap experts on the 4x4 forum would know for sure. If it is ECU controlled, the cruise control is probably built in and unused, just needs the appropriate switching added.

Why bother though unless you are motorway cruising all day?

Sean; I use cruise constantly in the car, as we have a few roads with 50kp/h limits here which are dual carraigeway spec, which means that it's very easy to speed on them. Personally, I don't want to be handing my hard earned over for being a bit over the limit, or hit something because I'm concentrating more on my speedo than on the road ahead, which is something I feel is encouraged by the camera vans.

My understanding of that Australian ad is that it'll work on all vehicles. I'll check over on the hilux forums and see what they say.

    Thanks.

EDIT: @Colm; by any chance do you have contact details for ICE Systems; google is not my friend today!!

@OSI; I've had cruise in several cars of different makes and models. I've found that cruise will normally work from around 15mph upwards.

I rang ICE today for a price. They took the car spec and said they'd call me later.

2 hours later the guy rang me (I didn't catch his name) to confirm that they could do it, how much it would cost, how much notice they'd need to get the relevant parts, and how long they'd need the vehicle to finish the job properly.

    Extremely efficient, pleasant, and professional.

From just the 2 calls today I'd have no hesitation dealing with them; I just have to justify the cost of the job and arrange the couple of days in Dublin to get it done!!!

Thanks to Colm_mcm for the contact details and recommendation.
