    Mod edit: Link removed.

Dog spinning is ritual formerly practiced in a village in southeastern Bulgaria. In dog spinning, a dog is suspended above water on a rope. The dog is turned repeatedly in a given direction to wind the rope, then released so that it spins rapidly in the opposite direction as the rope unwinds. This ancient ritual of pagan origin was performed in order to prevent rabies

It's amazing how you can take slack jawed yokels from any country and they always look like Irish farmers.

So uncivilised! Ah least when our boggers get together in public it's usually to see a couple of knackers beating the shít out of each other for money.

By work you mean "cure rabies" ? No.

Dog spinning, brought to you by the same people who think drilling a hole in your head will cure epilepsy.

Woah.. he's not the one spinning dogs ffs. The easily outraged Helen Lovejoy Brigade are far more annoying than a video of some poxy tradition.

Better than the Korean canine tradition.

    No.

It should be left up so people can see who's perpetating this cruelty. If it gets enough public outcry the tourism board in Bulgaria will act to stop.

Try thinking things out before you make uninformed actions.

    No. Evidence or GTFO.

Your opinion doesn't matter to me as it's obviously misguided.

If this kind of stuff get's you off.

I abhor cruelty. This post displays your distint lack of judgement.

You abhor cruelty???Yet you post in AH,what kind of reaction were you expecting?.

Sick video says a lot about the person that posted it yet alone going to the hassle of trying to find it on you tube in the first place.

Pointless getting into it with you.

Someone with your username would have inside information on whether the dog was enjoying it or not. Dogs, sadly for them, will accept any amount of cruelty and still wag their tails.

We can't really cast stones living in a country that allows coursing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,128 ✭✭✭✭Oranage2

I doubt a cat would be up for any of this craic

or captive bolting and industrialised slaughter.. sure those things aren't cruel in most people's eyes. But substitute the thousands of animals killed every day to satisfy consumer need with one video of a load of plonkers/dogs chasing and killing an animal and all of a sudden people want to do their best to try and rationalise their selective ignorance of reality.

I'm pretty new to this forum and wasn't sure where to post it. I'd be happy for a moderator to move it to the appropriate forum.

No. As I said I take no pleasure in cruelty. Sometimes you need to chastize an animal to socialize it. Or with less smart humans provide clear explanations...

Pointless getting into it with you.

Now I'd politely ask you to stop trolling.

Was thinking the same! Impressive speed. Say that thing is 2 inches long. For it to run 6.8kph would be the equivalent of a 6ft man running 250kph. Some feat.

    Charter fail

Putting an animal through undue stress is cruelty in our book.
