    Quick Question if i saw a car for €7000 in a garage/dealer and i had a car worth 3-4k will they allow a trade in or do they have like cut off points where they wont allow trade ins

    depends on the garage..

    But your car valued at 3k/4k will only get offers of 1.5k to 2k if your lucky.

    If you have a trade-in then the sticker price of the new car is mostly irrelevant. The price the dealer gives you for your old car can be fudged to look like you are getting a great trade-in allowance. Of course it isn't a great deal if the car the dealer is selling is overpriced. The only price that matters is the cost to change price. You need to find a similar car at another dealership and see what they want from you to trade up, in order to know which is the better deal.

    No cut off point, everything has a value.

    Don't get too caught up on trade-in value though, it's all about cost-to-change.

    thanks guys - my car is driving fine - but i think at 2005 it's time for a change while i can still get something for it and trade up to 2008 say
    i was thinking mazda 2 1.5 litre diesel - any thoughts????
