PS3 250gb €199 @ Xtra Deal The SquareTallaght

This deal is only on today and tomorrow (19th March). Apparently due to excess stock, Xtra Deal (top floor in the Square in Tallaght, beside Game) are selling PS3 250gb (new model) for €199. Mine also had 2 blu ray DVDs in it..Wolverine and Dark Knight.:D

The PS3 250gb slim isn't in production any more so its left over units or refurbs I think, still really good price wish I had the money ATM tho

Old stock most likely, can't sell them as new if they're refurbs unless they want massive negative press.

Why is the 250g not in production anymore? Was there problems with it? It's €280 for a brand new 160g in Power City.

Basically there were 2 models, 120gb and 250gb. They replaced them with 160gb and 320gb models, the only difference is disk space.

They had about 15 left in stock as of about 5 minutes ago and they are going to keep selling them at that price till all are gone so it isnt just until the end of today

They also had about a dozen phats. 40gig and 60 or 80gig I think though neither of them were PS2 compatible. AS far asI remember they were €180.

There was a bundle for €250 - 250gig slim + Fifa 11+ Mirror's Edge + extra wireless third party controller and a few other third party accessories. Not really worth it imo since cheap accessories can be had online and a HD cable is €2 in the €2 shop.

...I was in a shop in Belfast recently and they had a bunch of new PS3 slims with Drake's Fortune 2 [sorry if I have name wrong] for 160 pounds sterling.

Also not so long ago Xtravision also had the old PS3 (fat) version :-) on sale in the Xtra-Games store and the one in The Square for similar money.

So it seems deals like these come around every so often....

Just picked up the last one in the shop there. Great deal OP but the box i got seemed a bit battered however the guy assured me it was brand new and not second hand or refurbished. Should be fine with the 12 month warranty .

Nope, I was up there last week and they were all gone, even the phats.

It was discontinued stock - the 250gig slim and phats aren't in production anymore hence cheap price.
