Why not make a thread celebrating some of the more forgotten highlights of the WWE for more recent fans, matches we may have forgotten, but were memorable for a number of different reasons at the time.

    Brooklyn Brawler defeats Triple H

Chris Jericho wins his first WWF Title in 2000, or does he?

Trying to find the segment where they reveal it to the crowd, it was awesome

In looking at this I did forget that WCW had some rather classic moments, and also the kind of moments that were classic in the "we'd really like to forget we ever did this" kind of way...one these has to be when Ultimate Warrior made a handful of appearances in WCW claiming he was bitter about that Wrestlemania defeat he'd suffered at the hands of Hogan years earlier (of course, for legal reasons he couldn't say that exactly)

This is Warrior on Nitro the night after his loss at Halloween Havoc, one of the worst matches in professional wrestling history, and also shortly before the Warrior disappeared again

Warrior beat Hogan in that match at WM 6

Back around mid-2000, a few months after Benoit had joined the WWF, he had a match on RAW with Austin; where Austin was slagged off for not being a technical wrestler. So in this match he broke out a few old-school manouvres. Lots of fun to watch.

Austin and Benoit had a few stormers around that time. One on Smackdown stood out for me.

Never heard of "Horace Hogan" til I saw one of the above clips. Something tells me I'm better off.

    Ah I see.

Yeah the Warrior/Hogan rematch may have been remembered as a disaster, but you gotta give WCW credit for trying to pull off this match, i'm sure Vince McMahon would have done the same given half a chance.

Absolutely, I think Vince would have done anything given the chance

But then again, there was also that Women's Champion (Madusa I believe) who showed up on WCW in late 1995 and binned her real WWF Women's title in front of the viewers....WCW had no real shame in those days and absolutely no morales

Vince had Ric Flair in the WWF when he was still recognised as the NWA World Champion and referred to him as the "real world champion" in reference to WCW creating the new WCW World Title as a result of Flair's walkout. Also Vince literally buried WCW the first chance he got, so WCW were definitely not worse than the WWF.

I guess so, that whole Fake Razor and Diesel thing was really insulting to Hall and Nash on a personal level, and didn't do WWF any favours at the time

the Hardcore title 24/7 rules, made for some great backstage brawls

Two of my favourite gimmick matches (iron man and submission match) put together by two of my favourite wrestlers of all time (Benoit and Angle).......the result is obviously a work of art!!!

WWF Backlash 2001 : Benoit vs Angle, 30 minute Ultimate Submission Match

If Chris Benoit was still alive and wrestling today I'd have no doubt he'd be in TNA kicking Angle's ass:D

Talking about HHH in 1997 in another thread made me remember this forgotten highlight. A great cage match. Be nice if cage matches returned to this format.

Repo Man doesn't simply job to The Undertaker, fairly decent match
