    Dell Inspiron 1501
    I have an Inspiron 1501 that won’t switch on It seems to trip out the charger
    The charger and battery are working perfect in a similar laptop
    The ram and the harddrive I am using are from similar laptop and working ok
    The operating system is vista
    Has anyone any ideas to try

    Exact same symptoms for a 1501 I had, turned out to be a faulty motherboard.

    When does your warranty expire?
    Have you checked the website to see if it is a known issue?

    if the light on the charger goes out, when you power on the laptop its the board :o
