    Hi beeker

No mate you will need a motorized dish mate or a static 90cm dish but there is lots of very interesting stuff on it..im looking forward to the next lauch on the 29th then you will be able to watch the space craft dock with the iss and maybe a couple of walks as well but im not sure if its carry people this time i think its extra fuel as it has raised its altitude. if you want i will guide you step by step as to how to install a motorized dish i install them in the north all the time so if you wanna go ahead im 100% sure i can guide you correctly m8. but you will need a non branded satellite box eg..dreambox or a tecnomate as the software in the skty box will not let you lock on to other satellites..btw i will be going down your way on august to get the ferry to france so if your having bother well its no bother to fix it properly for you as well..there is also an added benefit google cardsharing thats all i can say on that on a public forum.

Thanks chris, will let you know if I go with that option:)
The launch on the 29th is the European Ariane rocket, The next Shuttle launch is on April 20th at 00:48.
What channel are you picking up?

The channel is UP8 Charlie (NASA TV), and you would need quite a large dish to pick it up!

    Hi nutzz

It a feed channel used by the AP news network im not sure but i think people hire the air time of them like nasa possibly as a relay as most of the american satellites are on the western arc.Dish size for ireland is 90cm but a 1m should be fine to reduce rain fade..i use a motor and keep tuning into every so often like there disater in japan had a live feed for 3 days. there is also reuters feed on 45e but my arc is blocked past 42e but i have a full line of sight on the western arc. there really is lots of great FTA satellite channels about free footy on 26e etc.

Hi Walter, doubt this channel will ever be streamed online.
Space for some reason is not "The Opium of the People"!

here is the link to the Arianespace website though, you can sign up to get email reminders of upcoming launch's and they show them live.
after a terrible year in 2010 they are on course for a record breaking 12 launch's in 2011.
