I started a masters in computer science last year, and applied for the grant as a mature student. A couple of months in I was told that I needed to re-apply as a regular student, but by then I had decided to drop out of my course.

Bottom line is I didn't get any money and I paid the fees out of my own pocket.

I'm thinking of doing a H.Dip now as the masters was a bit too advanced (my undergrad course wasn't pure computer science). I asked about applying again and was told that as I dropped out of my course before Christmas I'm not entitled to the first installment and I mightn't be able to get my fees paid at all. Is that accurate?

I would appeal it as since you never received any grant payment or the fee's paid then they didnt help fund your college the last time.

you dont say whether they awarded a grant.

if they paid the fees and you dropped out then thats it you wont get fees paid again.

if you dropped out well before christmas then they are probably right in not paying you the maintenance..........
