New Setup - Suggestions?

Before I moved to Dublin I had an epic 1m Motor Setup with a Dreambox 7020 but gave it to my mum when I came over here. I loved it though and have decided to get a new system!

I want a 80-90cm dish with LNB, Wall Mount and Motor, some coax cabling & fittings and of course a Set Top Box.

I'm very, very out of date with the Set Top Boxes and am about to have a read through all these new boxes I'm seeing online - but any suggestions would be welcome.

My set top box requirements are C*C*m (which apparently we no longer need Linux specific boxes for - I continue to learn!) PVR and I'd like Hd compatibility.

Oh and for the equipment in general, any advice would be appreciated with regards to where to buy from in ireland.

Vu+ Duo immediately comes to mind.

Others would of course be Dreambox, QMini?, Azbox perhaps.

+1 on the Vu+ duo, an absolute gem of a receiver.
I've also heard good things about the ET9000.
As for the dish set up you won't go far wrong with triax td88, I have mine set up with lnbs for 6 sats and I'm delighted with it.
Covers a 20 degree spread and no waiting for the motor to swing the dish, also works a treat for pvr as it doesn't restrict you to watch/record on a single sat ala motorized

Vu+ would be my first choice of a reciever!

    Dm500hd second...

Dm800hd clone then would be a good option for the cheap side!!...

As for the rest of the kit, 1.2 dish would get you sorted on all the decent sats for footie, movies, etc...

    Hi DA365,
I currently have my dish set up as follows.
Single LNBs at 9'e, 16'e using a superslim Inverto Multiconnect to fit between an Inverto Twin @13'e and an ALPS single @19.2'e, along with Inverto twins at 13'e and 23.5'e and a quad LNB at 28.2'e.
    This feeds are going into 2 4way diseqc switches Tuner A= 13'e; 19'2'e; 23.5'e and 28.2'e and Tuner B= 9'e, 13'e, 16'e and 28.2'e.
EDIT Forgot to add using a Vu+ Duo :) Set top box

This gives me PVR functionality while allowing flexibility in my watch/Record 28.3'e and 13'e are on both tuners as they are my most used sats and this gives me full ''Sky +'' type functionality on those birds ;)

I have my dish aimed at 16'e as this is a very weak sat, even at prime focus on this sat I'm just pulling in signal at @50% SNR but getting this Sat was done more as a personal challenge than a necessity :P
But the rest of the birds are all at 75%+ SNR with 28.2'e at 90%+ even with the massive offset used to get the spread I have ;)

To be honest my most used Sats are as follows 28.2'e, 13'e and 19.2'e the others were added to see how far I could go with one dish :)

Here are some links to pics and info on my set up(Which I would never have managed without the advice given from users here ;) particularly Watty and Excollier.)

Hope the info helps ;) and best of luck with the setup whatever way you decide to go :)
