Driving Customers to Site and receiving sales

I have recently set up a new website selling replacement batteries for the ZTE Blade / Orange San Francisco which is a budget android phone with a large user base in Ireland & the UK. Before purchasing the wholesale batteries I researched and there was large interest on various forms. I have it listed on my website -wakix.com, gumtree & adverts and to date I have received one order.

What is the best way to drive customers to my website. Will be looking into adwords tonight but would appreciate other ideas.

SEO & adwords are probably your best bet.

Have you thought about selling the batteries via an ebay shop?

Is the problem that you're not getting traffic to your website? Or you are, but nobody's buying? They're two very different things, requiring two very different solutions.

In the first instance, increase your traffic by good SEO and maybe PPC. You could also look at advertising on the forums you mentioned before, and/or on Facebook etc. Also consider offline advertising, e.g. if there was a magazine that your target market would read.

If people are coming but not buying, then it might be the look of the website that is putting them off. Or your sales copy. Or your prices aren't right. Or any combination thereof. Converting traffic into sales is a whole art/science by itself, and it's good to split-test various elements of your page (e.g. Headline). Google can help you do that with the Optimizer service in which you create two versions of your webpage and they'll show one of them half the time and the other the remainder of the time - and you see which one does better.

Think about it logically. If i want a replacement battery i go straight to Ebay. Thats your solution

Charge a bit less and maybe push the fact its quick delivery from Ireland or UK and make the sale.

first result in google is somebody saying to go to ebay for replacement batteries

One sale may not be too bad depending on how many hits you have had to your site, If you have had 100 hits and one sale, that is nothing to fret about.

SEO, in the long term is probably the only way to ensure decent amounts of traffic. Its time consuming and a long process. Target niche keywords and start building backlins to your site.

Looking at your site I think you need a sperate homepage and since you have a compact product range, fill it the space with useful info on the phones etc until you expand your range which should improve conversion. Also include info on who you are.

    Good luck.
