Decent field for this event. Harrington, Garcia, Casey, Peter Hanson, Manassero, Rose & Kaymer from the European Tour in the field.

PH currently level after 9. Watney picking up where he left off last week @ -4 after 9, one off the lead of Ryan Moore.

PH still level after 13, 1 birdie and 1 bogey on the card. Watney leading on -6.

A Boy Sergio, lovely to see him playing well once again.
The european tour will only get stronger with him back to near his best form.

Paddy havin a mare on the greens, missed about 5 decent birdie chances on front 9, then misses an 8 footer for first bogey on the 9th, unlikley to make cut now

Birdie for Harrington on 17th, pity he won't be around for the weekend.

Slight chance cut might go to even and he should birdie the last, just 6 1/2 feet

Paddy gave himself an awful lot of chances today but took very few, if he putted as well as last weekend he would have went low today

Anybody know what mannasseomneeds to make the top 50 and get into the masters ??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 948 ✭✭✭SSK

Yeah Paddy seemed to play much better yesterday (according to the wonderful shot tracker), drove the ball relatively straight but missed a lot of putts, which is unlike him. Hopefully he'll put it together soon enough for 4 rounds, was close to it last week.

Would be fantastic to see either Manessero or Garcia win (or Ryan Moore for bank balance purposes :D)

Hes 55th in the world at the moment, so probably a top 5 or maybe a top 10 might squeeze him in.

Sergio starts by getting a birdie on the 1st. Heres hoping he can keep it up.

Some great scoring by Rose so far. 5 under thru 8 for a 1 shot lead over Webb Simpson.

Sergio hasnt got going yet :(
Think Nick Watney will be 1 of my bets for the Masters....he is on fire at the moment and draws the ball.

If Rose pulls off another "W" this week he could go on one of those runs like last year.
Then all of a sudden he's vying for World No.1.

Don't know why but I've always hated Rose.

And I really like him since last years Irish open. Was down there the day of the pro am and he had a word for everyone and was great with the kids. Seemed like a really sound guy.

Ya i was pretty suprised to see him at the Irish Open, was probably one of the only tournaments he played in Europe bar the British Open.

Hate when they do this, can't record and watch later. There's not even a repeat in the morning which I could watch, would not look up live score and be able to follow it as if live.

Hard to see Rose not winning here tonight, Watney seems to be the only player on the
leaderboard that could post a legitamite challenge.

6 players within a shot of the lead? Not hard for me to see him not winning. I'm going for Simpson!

so what happens him for the next few weeks, after he makes a balls of trying to win this tournament :p
Hope Gary Woodland pulls off his maiden victory...has been consistant all year and looks to be a very exciting player to watch.

Delighted to see that Woodland pulled off the victory. Unbelievable putting performance in last round...17 out of 17 putts from 20 foot and in :eek: wish i could do that

Watched some of the final round last night...man is Webb Simpson slow or what?! Makes JB look like John Daly in comparison.

Excellent final round from Woodland, those putting stats are mental

His putting was pretty god-like alright. Something like 17/17 from inside 20ft!
Simpson on the 17th tee, it must have taken him around 5min before he actually hit the ball. Between talking to his caddy and about 30 practice swings.

Fair play to Woodland, all he has to do is learn to smile and he will be just fine on Tour.
