Ughhh my correcters were complete **** !!! :O
my teachers decided to just recorrect them themselves :/
for example in my religion exam, one question, that was right (someone else wrote practicly the same thing, and got full marks) was marked with a 0 :O
and at least 8 people in my class of 15 got 0's for their 6 page essays that were perfect :O
    very annoyed i am :O
we paid €90 for corrections :O

The Chief Examiner's report for JC Geography in 2003 stated that grid references were to be six figure, so it's been that way a while.

Well I made a couple of really stupid math mistakes (like multiplying brackets and getting the wrong sign:mad:) and ran out of time in irish paper 2 ( don't know if that counts....). Only have Irish, math, history and geography back so far but history was a real eye opener! Usually if I didn't know that much about what I was writing about I just rambled on and hoped I'd get an srs somewhere but no, there were no rambling marks! Still got a b though (highest in the class:D) and what made it sweeter was I brought my paper up to my teacher because I was a bit confused about one of the questions (It was about medical advances in the renaissance. I wrote "they cut up dead peoples bodies" yano like DaVinci did. I got the marks but "cut up" was circled so i asked my teacher and she just laughed and said I should have said "dissected":p) Then I just happened to mention that I lost most of the marks in that question and 6a, so she read 6a and gave me another 2 marks which brought me up from 81% to 82%!!!:D I was so happy:D Loads of people are getting our teacher to look over their papers because they thought the marker was a bit tight but i'd say we're all just shocked at how tightly history is marked in general:eek:

I'd have to disagree about history being marked hard tbh. I got full marks on all of my accounts, without writing ridiculous amounts (although I did get a bit carried away with the Cuban Missile Crisis) and I know people who got full marks on some accounts by writing less and including less SRS. I think in comparison to something like geography, history has a lot of leeway in marking.

I could be talking absolute rubbish here but meh, that's what I thought when I was looking back at my mock scripts.

Oh errr yeah, mistakes in mocks...ummm I didn't write my figures clearly enough in some maths questions and I lost a few marks which would have brought me up to an A but I'll know for again. And I read a question wrong in business and lost like a percent. A few hiccups with not reading geog short questions properly...oh and for French, I didn't spend enough time reading the comprehensions and trying to understand them, and I pretty much wrote my letter and postcard without thinking about them beforehand, and lost loads of marks for messed up grammar.

So yeah, I made lots of small mistakes which all add up. My main problem was being finished really early and thinking it was great - most of my mistakes wouldn't have happened if I just took my time while actually doing the exam (although I will never, ever read over my script after finishing an exam, that's just torture). But I'll know for June, it's all a good learning experience. :)

Yeah Slowshow i know what you mean, I thought it was marked fair enough, I lost the marks in the bits I rambled on in and hadn't studied. Some people are alway gonna think that they deserved more marks though, so at least it puts their mind at rest if the teacher looks over it. Who knows, sometimes they do deserve more marks!! Then again I have to disagree with you about geography marking! I thought it was marked grand because you can't really mark short questions wrong (I hope!) Then we had done loads of practise in os maps so I knew what to write for that. Like you said though, I won't make those history mistakes in June, I think thats basically the whole point of the mocks:D!

my short questions were marked awefully :O
i noticed a few of them which i was nearly 100% sure they were right, had been marked wrong, so i gave my papers to my teacher and asked them to check the marking, and i gained 10%, bringing my grade up to 91% :O
    :D

I just missed the A in History and I feel it was marked unfairly and that I should have gotten a high 90 however my teacher's rechecking it and I'm worried incase I get it back with the exact same percentage (embarrasment)... They tend to go up yeah?

yeh, for christmas I got 88% and i asked for a recheck cos she didnt correct it properly, I got it back and she gave me a well deserved 96% :)
Got 83% for mocks and I believe i shouldve got 87% but im not gonna bother this time :pac:

I had maths paper 2 first, and I panicked. I completely went blank and ended up with a D overall because of the panic I had.
And I thought I was marked way too low on english paper 2, but I asked her to recheck my paper and she ended up having to bump me up 12%. She blames the calculator.

Got music back today, I was very happy with my result (highest in the class!!!:D:D) but then our teacher started going through it and it turns out some of the answers I got right, other people got marked wrong. "Ya, big woop, mocks are sometimes marked wrong" is probably what you're thinking. But A LOT of times the other people in my class got marked wrong and I was THE ONLY ONE to get marked right. That was the strange bit it was always just me on my own! So the teachers gonna look over them tomorrow. And I couldn't possibly know the marker ( not that it should make any difference;)) As for mistakes, in the melody writing section I put in my dotted crochet quaver, rubbed it out because I wanted to put it a note higher and then did a dotted crochet, crochet. I left out the little tail yok that makes it a quaver! I read over it so many times too and just completely missed it, lost 7 marks which is 20% of the melody writing question:(

My teachers corrected ours. My science teacher marked loads of things that were right, wrong. I think he just did it on purpose to lower everyones marks and make them work harder... :P
