Apple student discounts

I have a son in college and just wondering how exactly does the Apple student discount work?

Do you get all the VAT off the normal retail price?

What do you need to prove you are a current student?

Currently only laptops and desktops are discounted.

iPhones, iPads, iPods and apple tv are not eligible for the student discount

Go here and choose your Uni/College from the list - you will be prompted to enter your student login.

Looks like €100 off a macbook, €120 off a macbook pro, €100 off a macbook air, €125 off an iMac and €300 off a Mac pro.

Regular students get 7-8 percent off. University students are eligible for the Apple on Campus discount of 10 percent.

compu B gave us a 10% discount off my macbook pro when we used my partners student id if that helps.

Yes. They can ask for ID.

What college is he in? Most colleges have whats called Apple on Campus (AOC) The IT Services of the college normally have a link to a special section of the Apple site. The discount is at most 10%.

I wish Apple would offer discounts on more things. Such as the iPad. I'm planning on getting the new one Friday for college study etc. and wish they'd offer a student discount. Even in the Promo video it shows how it's helped kids in school an teachers. But yet no discount. Still great that they do offer a discount on most stuff. Not many computer companies do.

I've ordered stuff online with the discount and never been asked for proof.

There is a discount in the UK for the iPad for college students. Which is strange. I could be wrong but when you log in using the UCD AOC link the iPad is cheaper (Could be completely wrong!) I was looking at one for college as well.

No, just checked and it's the same price. But we do get 1 cent off the iPod nano. Although the Shuffle is 1 cent more expensive. lol. Looks like a mistake.

Hey, the discount is now 12% but you have to verify that you are a student on campus.ie/apple.. they are the portal for all college apple stores now..

Yep I used the discount through Campus and got a mighty €330 off my Macbook Pro purchase. Also accompanied by a €75 student giftcard (which the offer has now finished on)
