About half the town was open, only chemist i saw was Gallaghers. City square had most shops open.

A-wear started their mid-season sale today, poor staff they must have all been in.

They obviously thought they would make the money as they should be paying staff Bank Hol rates.

Though some companies play the recession card and give 2 days off instead.

They could have been forced into doing it as it costs more to close some supermarkets due to the amount of fresh food that would go out of date.

I used to work St Patricks day in a clothing shop in town and we usually did the same sales as a poor Sunday in Jan. Basically we were an information kiosk.
