Any tips for cleaning out a new build?
Seems to be endless dust hanging around, sawdust, dust n dirt in general.
Got a tip to put polybond on the screed to seal it and stop dust coming up from it which seems to have helped but I'd like to have the place as clean as possible before painting.
Ive gone through a few brushes already. All the sweeping out cant be great for the lungs, even with a mask on.
Anyone recommend a good wet/dry Hoover?
I think Lidl and Heiton Buckley had them on special offer recently.

Hi i would not use a wet vac ,you need to dry the place out even if it looks dry. A good industrial vac, you can hire them, when the fish floor and paint go on you will have little or no dust, after a clean.

We got a Ryobi wet/dry cleaner in Dunnes recently. Cost €59.99.

We're nearing the end stage of a build as well. I'm currently spending my weekends sweeping and hoovering. Hoping to do a first paint in the main bathroom this weekend.

    Stop brushing dust!!!!!!
Hire a good hoover, as stated above.
But, you should also hoover the walls and ceilings if possible.
Then go around with buckets and clothes and wipe down every surface where dust can settle, tops of door frames, light fittings etc...

A gardening mister bottle sprayed a few time in the air in a new build works a treat for getting airborne dust to settle on the ground.

Also spray the dirt on the floor with the mister/spray bottle, where you intend to sweep,as this prevents dust cloud comming back up as you sweep the dust into a pile.

Sweep carefully and sweep slowly too.

    Worked a treat for me.
