just got a 2nd hand ipad today. people sure do mind them like babies. Its immaculate. Unfortunately its a present for my husband and his birthday is over 2 weeks away so I cant be taking it out and playing with it :( anyways the nice man that sold me it left some paid apps on it, will I have any problem hanging on to these in the future? I forgot to check the software version but I wouldnt say it has 4.3 on it yet and I 'd like to have all that done before I hand it over **sniff**

The apps will stay on it, but if you want to upgrade the apps I believe you will have to pay for them.

As soon as you sync with iTunes and your own iTunes account you will lose the apps, they are linked to the sellers account.
You are as well to just upgrade to 4.3 and start as new.

Thought so. No way round syncing as I bought it to put stuff on it so himself can decide if he wants to put the stuff on it later. Cheers :)

What's the story with the "authorised computer" feature of the Apple devices?

I only have an ipod touch and I think at some stage I got a message that I could only sync it with 5 pcs.

Is this something to keep in mind when buying a 2nd hand ipad?

You can share apps and music on 5 authorised machines. Authorised means using your iTunes username and password.
