    Hi all,

I know my problem is small in the grand scheme of things, I think I need a kick up the ass or something, I just don't want to talk to friends or family about this one.

So, my problem is that I have an outie belly button that looks horrible. People always notice although seeing as I'm in my twenties, people just mention it(in a surprised not mean way) and that's all. I just feel really self-conscious in a bikini, underwear etc. Does anyone else relate to this or have advice for how to get over it.

Again I know it may seem like such a small problem but it does get me down sometimes.

'outie' is not a word. It is not in the english language.

'outie' is not a word. It is not in the english language.

The point was to communicate, not speak perfect English. The OP communicated the point efficiently. Anyway, if you're going to be that picky, you might want to start using capital letters at the beginning of a sentence.

OP, outie belly buttons are one of those things that most people don't even think about. Most people don't see your belly button as an outie, because most people don't see it as unusual, or don't notice the shape of a person's belly button. Personally I don't think I've ever noticed someone else's belly button at all, it isn't something I'd care about. I can however understand why it might bother you. Some people do notice these things. These are the same people who think that a pimple is disgusting, that boobs should always point a certain way, and that feet are horrific. These people have feet. These people just like finding flaws. Unfortunately, one comment from someone like this can affect a person's confidence for a long time. If someone thinks an outie belly button is weird, it's more of a reflection on them than on you.

If you're so inclined, you can get cosmetic surgery, called an umbilicoplasty I think. So you'll always have the option, but I think often with things like this, when given the option you realise that you don't really need it.

Yes it is, go to the Oxford Dictionary, just not in this definition.
    Oh and stop trolling badly.

    @OP
So you have an outie belly button, it's really not a big deal.

Now some guys may be put off by it, other's will not. Just like how some people can be put off by say... a "hooked" nose, but others really don't care.

Important thing here is to essentially "get over it", by which I mean just go with the attitude of why care about a belly button, when the rest of me is freaking awesome!

selfobsessed lost access to this forum earlier today so arguing with them is pointless.

Can we keep posts on-topic and helpful to the OP, please.

    Many thanks.

    Hi op,

There is an operation available to make it an 'innie' if it really upsets you. Why not save up and get the op!

I love them. I think they're cute as hell. I've only ever known one girl who had a 'proper' outie and what's rare is beautiful, IMO...

^^^ I agree, they are cute. OP this is not a problem, be proud of yourself.
