Nissan Almera jerks when engine is cold.

Hi all, my 2002 Nissan Almera jerks when I press the clutch changing gear from 1st to 2nd. This only happens when the car has just started and when the engine is cold. When the engine has reached its desired temperature, The car is back to normal. Any ideas why this happens?
