Heart rate after cycling

My rested heart rate is typically in the low 50's BPM when I wake in the morning. During the day it is typically ~60 BPM.

I came back from a steady 100km spin about 3 hours ago and my heart rate is at 75BPM. I've never paid any attention to my heart rate this long after exercise. Just wondering is this "normal". Seems high to me.

Can a high heart rate this long after a spin indicate over-training?

** Note: I'm not looking for medical advice here, just what other peoples experiences are with heart rate.

EPOC. Or you're dehydrated. Or you're about to die. One of those.

72bpm is considered a normal persons resting heartbeat.
So, after 100k cycle, your heart rate is elevated - that's normal.

My resting heart rate used to be in the low 40s (back when I was fit), and after climbing Carrauntuohill it went up to 70.
Low heart rates are sometimes used as an indicator of low blood pressure, which in some countries is deemed to be needing medical attention. Does not really apply if you are fit and healthy however.
