... you loaded HP5 into your camera and rated it at 400, shot some of the roll, but then went to see some really beautiful art nouveau furniture in a very dark apartment so decided to feck it and change the rating to 3200, then got to the dark room and realised the only developer you have isn't at all suitable for pushing film that much, and also because of that you can't find a dev time so you have to guess, but you're an impatient eejit so you went ahead anyway, and when you were pouring out the developer the whole top of the tank came away and the spool landed in the sink in bright light, and you were so annoyed at this stage that you just shouted at it for a bit and shoved the spool back in the tank without rinsing the developer off, never mind stopping or fixing it, and left it with the lid sort of half on for 5 hours in the light, and then went back to bin it and discovered that there *were* in fact images on it, so you stopped and fixed and rinsed it, and when you went to dry it you realised that your fixer is almost exhausted and it hadn't fixed properly, so you just shove the roll (now off the spool) back into the tank and pour the fixer back on and leave it overnight because at this stage you want to just go home and cry?

Not that much, bizarrely! Ok so they're not the best exposed/developed shots i've ever produced, and I'm pretty sure Sacre Coeur wasn't covered in bubbles (and I may have double exposed a shot of an Irish bar on to it accidentally..), but i'm truly amazed at this film and it's ability to take the endless stream of sh1te I threw at it. It makes me feel all warm inside :)

Moral of the story? don't bin film, even if you really *really* think you've killed it.

    Ha. That's pretty awesome!
I really like the crazy sacre coeur one, and the rooms ones make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

My money would be on Sinead anyway if Paddy Power ever organized a bet describing the above events...

It seems like SUCH an INCREDIBLY UNLIKELY series of events that I'm calling VIRAL MARKETING SHENANIGANS ! It's the only possible explanation.

Look at that cool solarisation that's kicked off in the shadow areas of the last pic :D

I thought you could only change ISO on the fly with D-SLRs? How wrong I was! The first 2 have a lovely 1950's feel to them...

You can but after shooting you can push/pull the film in the developer.

    PS: Nice work madame!

You can change it mid roll for sure. What a DSLR does though is compensate when you do. Film can't do that, so I effectively overexposed the first part of the roll by three stops. As you can see though, film is a LOT more forgiving of overexposure than digital, so it's 6 of one to a certain extent :)

Sounds like a makey up story by some mad photographer. Sure film would never recover that sort of abuse :D:D:D

Your a jammie sod, is all I can say. You were just short of sticking into the lions cage for good measure.

You'd swear from some of the shots that they were taken by my dad in 1947. They've got a real timeless feel to them. Love the Sacre Coeur shot, although I'd have to question the Batman logo. Not sure if he existed back in 1947 :p

Well done missus. It does just go to show the flexibility of film :D
