I just got a response on the expected delivery day - mid april
These models are as yet not available in the UK or the republic of Ireland. We are however expecting shipment to the stores of these models within the next month. These should be available for purchase in the republic of Ireland via stores such as PC World, Comet, curry's etc around mid april.

what's everyone's opinion on the HP Pavilion DV6 anyway ?

if you're gpu didnt overheat it lasted fairly well, fairly standard fair for the most part.

hell im on mine right now. theyre decent enough. lighter than some other laptops the same size that use heaver exteriors; this chassis is all plastics. The lid will still tolerate cats and books and whatnot, its not entirely delicate or anything.

theyd want to have fixed the microphone though and added noise cancel, its useless on the older models. also easy to lose a micro SD card in the slot because theres a lip that sticks out. not sure about that new keyboard either, whats the advantage

what is the keyboard and the clickpad like ? Is the click pad buttons hard to press ?

I got my DV6 6053 of the amazon.co.uk website. It cost me something like £760 or so. I wish I could have got a few of the extra features they offer in the states like back lit keyboard and 1080p and blu ray drive. The 7200rpm drive would be handy also.

However I am very happy with the machine I got. The only problem I have is with the metal trim that goes around the edge of the machine. It bulges out just below where the mouse pad is and below the stickers. All in all its not flush like the rest of the machine.

I contacted HP and they said they would pick it up friday and fix it for me.. they never showed up. Hopefully they can fix it and get it back in the 10 working days

apart from the metal finish everything has been perfect. I use the machine every day for the last 3 weeks and its perfect.

i know what you mean the prints on the laptop can get very annoying at times...when you hold down any key on the laptop do u find that the touch pad stops working??

apart from the metal trim on the front where the speakers come out I had no other problems...

I use a mouse most of the time and the touch pad has done everything I needed it to.. I know the previous model was very annoying with the buttons
