Transferring money to the North

I live in Northern Ireland and on ocassions do some work for clients in the South. Often the amounts are small, say €50 to €200, so the transaction charges can be quite high. I usually use Paypal as that is a straight commission with no minimum fee, but for larger than about €200 it is quite expensive and I think the client is charged as well.

Electronic bank-to-bank trasfer costs £6 plus exchange commission to receive and a eurocheque is £10 plus commission.

    Anybody have any other suggestions?

Do you want your southern clients to pay in € or £

Could you open an account in the south?

I would want clients to pay in Euros.

Opening an account in the south is something I might consider, if I get a lot more work but that is far in the future. For now it is not worth the extra admin.
