hi there, ive tried searching but cant find an answer.
i currently have casual work and have to fill in the slips of days i work.
it is usually 3 days a week, although some days i could work 4 hours and others 10 hours.
Will this affect allowance i'd get for other days?
also is there a maximum amount of hours per week i may work?
because if i work 10 hours for the 3 days it may affect payment yes?

    Second question:
I am hoping to attend a course through fas, full time. It is starting in a few weeks time. will i be still allowed to work at weekend? or willl i have to stop

    thanks:)

Open to correction but as far as i know you can work as many hours as you want in a day. If you work one hour or 10 hours it is still only considered one day.
You can only work a max of 3 days though. if you work into the 4th day you will not receive any payment for that week.

Not sure about your second question sorry.

You can only work upto 36 hours a week, anything over 36 hours is seen full-time.
So if you did 3 x 12 hour shifts, you would not be entitled to payment for that week.

If you are doing a full-time course through FAS, then FAS should take over your payments.
Once you meet the criteria for your FAS payment (ie. Attend the course) weekend work shouldn't affect you.

the 36 hours bit here is completely wrong, mom to be absolutely correct.

    on Jobseekers Benefit
persons who work the equivalent of full-time hours by way of intensive shifts. It is usual to treat persons who work 36 hours per week or over as being in full-time employment.

    on Jobseekers Allowance
people who work the equivalent of full-time hours by way of intensive shifts. It is usual to treat persons who work 36 hours or over as being in full-time employment. However, persons who work a lower number of hours (perhaps as low as 30 hours) in a week may also be treated as in full-time employment.
