I went in to the shop today, I didn't realise you had to order online. My father was impressed with the size of the shop.

Yeah, the postage is expensive.

I worked out the savings over CRC earlier, about €2 a tube. The shorter valve versions are cheaper.

Does buying tubes in bulk invite more punctures?

No but buying those Schwalbe Ultremo's that they had in a previous deal does. 3 punctures in 3 rides. One each day. Items piercing the tyre in each case, no pinch flats. Load of rubbish, may as well wrap your tubes in toilet paper for all the use they are. Going back to GP4000S.

Thats interesting, I put Ultremos on my bike last year (Blorg's Recomendation) and while I haven't put huge milage on them I did a couple of races last year and haven't had any punctures. For that reason I took that deal from Cycle Superstore but you've got me wondering if they are a bad batch??? Anyone else any thoughts?

I've done several thousand km of commuting and weekend rides on a set of Ultremo R1s (28mm) and have only had one puncture, and that was very recent. I think that may have been caused by clumsy glass shard removal using a set of pliers.

I do expect them to explode any minute, given the Ultremo reputation and how ridiculously light they are.

I want to see that pink PX on a few sportiffs this year, last time I met you on that was 2 years ago, on the WW200, but you were in a bad way then with your knee, and abandoned in Donard if my memory serves me right

+1 I'm very tempted but it would be great to hear a first hand account of how they actually are first!

quick question. if delivery is free on everything in ireland why are they charging €8 for gls courier and no other delivery option?

also does this have to be picked up today if i dont get it delivered??

Pick up instore is from Thursday, you cannot pick up on day of deal. Items need to be picked up within 7 days, and you need your web order receipt and I.D., items not picked up within 7 days will be returned to stock at a 25% restocking charge, so it says on their website when you click to buy and opt for store pick up

BTW, I own some Bicycle Line Tights, padding not the thickest, but comfortable on long rides, and they are at the cheaper end of Bicycle Line products, would recommend, but in saying that, they might not be everyones cup of tea so to speak.

I own a pair of plasma shorts, and they are very good. Far better than Orwell's club shorts, or Giordana's Silver Tech shorts (both those examples actually use the same padding, incidentally). Highly recommend them for that price; I've recommended them at their standard price before...

I'm sure the Santini's will be good!!!

Basically, with different shorts, you get different pannelling systems, densities of foam/foam gel combos/gel chamois' and different lycra shorts. The Plasma shorts are a very high quality foam short. Different densities of padding help to give you support where you need it, and the padding being divided up into several panels means that they shape well to your body. The lycra part of it itself is the only part of the short that is average for the price, but that might just be me and my legs...
