Please leave the title of the thread the way it is. There's no need for every word to be in capital letters.

Having seen the pictures, I'm sure this breaches a few regulations/laws. Perhaps our Fire and Rescue experts might be able to clarify and advise you what you can do if you wish to make this a formal complaint.

Contact for DFB. Report it. Today preferably.

Looking at the pictures, I'm not certain that they're emergency exits. The sign over them appears to be greyed out (turned inside out), so they may not actually be in use as exits.

Even if they're not though, the layout is confusing, so a chat with the building management would be my first bet. If you get an unsatisfactory answer from them, 01 6734000 is the number for DFB fire prevention.

never the less, even if they are not active emergency exits, the impression is there also in the last photo it is clear it is at a corner of a corridor, and in confusion this will most defiantly be seen as a way out for panicked members of the public.
contact the fire prevention in the DFB this morning, dont bother trying to contact the manager of the station. you probably wont get any results.

I would contact DFB Fire Prevention. It looks like an old Emergency Exit. If its not an actual exit there is no harm in it chained up. In an emergency at least you will see its chained up and move onto he next door. I have seen old fire hose cabinets on walls that are clearly sign "Not In Use"; maybe the same should be done here. Get them to take the bulb out of the light above door too.

i work in the station daily as a contractor and have been inside them double doors, its an old store room and old access to the station/ticket booths from aemiens st(closed for years befpre the new entrance was opened up, any old timers would remember it well). this is where old advertising units are being held, maybe some old chairs too. im sure if you ring the station manager in main office they would be happy to clarify this.

you will notice as you walk down from platform 6 and 7 there isnt any sinage pointing to those doors as emergency exits, same goes if your walking down the stairs from the platform 4 and 5 side.

irish rail taking safety very seriously ive noticed, not one memebr of opperational(non office workers) are able to walk around without high viz on and all contractors must have a personal track safety pass(basicially the safe pass for train stations)

**edit, the old old emergency exit sign above the door is reversed so its not visable to people, but i suppose it should be blanked entirely.
but anyone with common sense would just move on to the next exit like the above poster said.

The only danger would be a possible crush developing if people further from the door are under the mistaken belief that it is a fire exist and they try to push toward it.

A large sign indicating where the nearest exit is or the doors behind a false wall would sort any problems.

So they're not emergency exits then. Thanks for clearing that up.

    Thread closed.
