A clean white shirt and black trousers is the classic waiter's getup.

If youre a first timer Id reccomend the black top/shirt, black pants route.

    Hides spills easier!;)

Im sure there will be a uniform..

Black shirt, black tie, black shoes.. Comfy shoes!

And always bring a fresh pair of socks to change into halfway through your shift!!
    Odd, but works!

If they make you wear a tie (unlikely) then remember to bring a tie clip.
As this is your first waiting job I'm guessing you're not doing silver service so the uniform is more likely to be casual. As mentioned, black trousers, black polo shirt (and a spare one for accidents). Comfy & clean shoes.

I know this is probably above and byond required for the majority of eateries but think about giving yourself a manacure to get your fingernails in order. Avoid nail varnishes. Punters are going to be seeing your hands more then anything else. Hygiene and maintainance of your hands will lead to more tips in the long run.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

Try to keep the make-up to a minimum and your hair out of your face (if you're a girl!). Oh, and try not to wear too much jewellery, especially rings. I work in a bar, and you should've seen my boss' face when I got my lip pierced :pac:
