lawn top dressing

    my lawn is looking very battered since the snow,so can i buy a few bags of top dressing,do garden centrer sell it ,am in north dublin, not lawn fertilizer or could i make it myself

    This is the wrong time of year for topdressing. It should be done in the autumn. Don't know if you can buy it but you would be best off mixing your own. Topsoil, peat and sharp sand. The ratios depend on what type of soil you have in your garden. You can google around for more info or get your hands on book called 'The Lawn Expert', there are 2nd hand copies on Amazon for about 4 euros including delivery.
    Best bet right now is cut, seed and fertilise in late April.
