Boat on Shannon rip off

Is there anyone charging reasonable prices?

The prices for renting a boat on the Shannon are outrageous, I'm not even talking about the top of the high season. I'd get a much better deal (and more kudos) booking a 5 star hotel for the prices I'm being quoted. I note one operator charges a €500 euro penalty if you return the boat after 9am.

I'm not John D Rockerfelller; any recommendations for a place in terms of price and trustworthiness? By that I mean reasonable conditions too.

After reading through the terms and conditions not to mention prices some these companies think fit to charge I'll most likely abandon the idea and take the OH to a 5 star hotel for the weekend, it's much better value.

We rented a boat on the Shannon a good few years ago. Very expensive.
Now we always take a boat in the UK or France.
It can work out as little as half the price of the cheapest Irish option including flights and transfers.
