    Hey,

Buying a 4 yr old private used car in UK. Buying privately and owner has said the car just passed the MOT in the last few weeks.
Hope this is not a stupid question but is it a fair assumption that the car will sail through the NCT when I re-register it in Ireland?

    Thx

Not really. Nct is more stringent than the MOT.

it's a good indication. However no guarantees as any registered garage can carry out an MOT in the UK and some may not be as reliable as others.

cheers, its a 2007 with relatively low mileage so Id be relatively happy that it would pass OK if it got through the english MOT. Ive done a HPI check on the vehicle and all is sound also...

From what i can tell, it could pass an NCT here today and fail it tomorrow.
